أنتِyou ياO شغلَpreoccupation خاطرِيmy mind نُصْبَbefore عَيْنيmy eye
أنتِ يا شغلَ خاطرِي نُصْبَ عَيْني
حَيثُماwherever شِئتُI wish أنto أراكِsee you أراكِI see you
حَيثُما شِئتُ أن أراكِ أراكِ
You, who occupy my thoughts, are before my eyes.
You, the preoccupation of my mind, the apple of my eye
Wherever I wish to see you, I see you.
Wherever I wish to see you, I see you
وَإذاand if نِمتُI fall asleep عَنat يَمينكِyour right side سَهواًinadvertently
وَإذا نِمتُ عَن يَمينكِ سَهواً
أيقَظَتْنيwoke me وَرقاءُa gray dove فوقَabove أرَاكِan arak tree
أيقَظَتْني وَرقاءُ فوقَ أرَاكِ
And if I unwittingly fall asleep at your right side,
And if I fall asleep in neglect to your right
A gray dove atop an arak tree wakes me.
The soft whisper above awakens me, I see you
