If my heart is lost, then where shall I seek it?

Or if my love becomes known, you are its cause.

O young gazelle whose pasture lies among my ribs,

And whose drink comes from the pure, sweet water of tears.

You spend the longest night asleep,

While my eye keeps watch on al-Simāk.
