I do not press wine, but plant grapes,
Mouths offering the gleam and cool sweetness of their teeth suffice for me.
My swords are enough to justify darkness and old rancor,

When it circulates around a sober man,

One day he stumbles intoxicated and sways happily,

And remains celebrating in the midst of his joy,
as though what he drank were the blood of the grape cluster.
As if the blood of grapes is what he had drunk,

Tell this bleeding to persist confidently,
for there is no sin in constantly taking white honey.
There is no sin upon whoever persistently drinks and strikes,

Who spent the night sobbing towards the beloved,

an anguish that set it ablaze till it became a marvel.
From a burning passion that blazed into something amazing,

They had prevented it from a scorching heat that fulfilled desire,

Divesting of caution, and unsheathing the spears of war,
in ample mail of resolve and summoned the slender spears.
And he mixed white with courage when dew dripped,

With patience he exhausted supplies and emptied the leather bags,
through cloudbanks, draining purses and waterskins.

While the other settled, with prolonged worries and depressed,
while that one stands still, deep in gloomy thought.

To the point that they were pleased with the length of their anger,
until at last they were pleased after their long anger.

Except his darkness dispersed like clouds' clusters,
without dispelling calamities dark as deepest night.

his cavalry have been set to turn lofty, rooted mountains into dunes.

like a palm trunk shedding ripe dates when shaken.

yet "the solitary one" is a title belonging always to Rajab.

My lord, gifts have poured upon your servant in steady showers,
So he hurried to give thanks and fulfill what is due,
so he hastened to praise, discharging what was owed.

since I gained learning and refinement in your presence.
