Glad tidings to al-Andalus and her capital, Hims!

For she has been clothed in security’s ample robes.

And she has again been granted victory over her foes, as at the outset.

So they tasted blood-red deaths through slaughter and annihilation.

Nor is it strange that good fortune should be drawn to her people,

for they did not meet bounty with ingratitude or contempt.

Did they not, in renunciation and eagerness for guidance, depose

(And it is a wonder that renunciation should be strengthened by eagerness!)

Ali ibn Idris ibn Yaqub, and give their allegiance

to Yahya ibn Abd al-Wahid ibn Abi Hafs?
