سَيّدٌa lord أيِّدٌmighty رَئيسٌa chief بَئيسٌvaliant
سَيّدٌ أيِّدٌ رَئيسٌ بَئيسٌ
فيin أسَاريرِهِhis features صِفَاتُqualities الصّباحِthe dawn
في أسَاريرِهِ صِفَاتُ الصّباحِ
A mighty lord, a valiant chief,
A generous lord, a helping chief
In his features are the qualities of dawn.
In his nature, traits of the morn
قَمرٌa moon فيin أُفْقِhorizon المَعاليlofty honors تَجَلّىshone forth
قَمرٌ في أُفْقِ المَعالي تَجَلّى
وَتَحلّىand adorned himself بالسؤْدَدِwith nobility الوَضّاحِradiant
وَتَحلّى بالسؤْدَدِ الوَضّاحِ
A moon, he shone forth on the horizon of high honor,
A moon risen on the horizon of glory
And adorned himself with radiant nobility.
Adorned with the radiant light
سَلَّمyielded البَحرُthe sea فيin السّماحَةِgenerosity مِنهfrom him
سَلَّم البَحرُ في السّماحَةِ مِنه
لِجَوادٍto a generous man سَموهthey named him بَحْرَsea السّماحِgenerosity
لِجَوادٍ سَموه بَحْرَ السّماحِ
The sea, faced with his generosity, yielded
The sea surrendered to his generosity
To a generous man they named the Sea of Generosity.
To a sea they named “The Generous Sea”
