Beginnings of conquest that have no endings,
The beginnings of conquests have no endings,
borne far by sleek horses and wave-cleaving ships.
Through them armies and ships with later ones have continued.

Those are borne onward by wide, barren deserts,
So these are led by vast deserts,
and these are driven forward by surging seas.
And those are guided by seas with currents.

Swimmers all, except that some are burden-bearers,
Except some are pregnant,
and some are lean from swift galloping.
And some flee briskly being bachelors.

The congratulations reserved for it extend to all,
The congratulations I have been endowed encompass all,
so no mortal is left ungladdened by the good tidings.
Thus every human is elated by the good news.

And the most glorious conquests are those that rise unveiled,
The emerging conquests set out unveiling,
when armies have not veiled themselves in dust,
Not affected by the darkness of the soldiers.

Nor did courageous lions plunge into war,
borne flying through the dust by broad-winged, swooping raptors.
Soaring through the sands as strong horses.

Fate bestows them without deliberation,
It bestows them without any hesitation,
and a poet excels, taking the lead in improvisation.
And it surpasses others in eloquence.

And water is not gushing without its joy,
like other water for which mattocks cleave the earth.
As if the ground has just been dug by shovels.

Yahya al-Murtada is accustomed to attaining his desires,
Yahya Al-Murtaza has gotten used to attaining wishes,
with no Khatti spear shaken and no keen sword drawn.
Neither shaken nor dejected.

If he wished, the right flanks would not turn against him,
and had he wished, no left-wing troops would have gathered round him.
If he wished, the left flanks would not turn against him.

For one whose good fortunes fight on his behalf, what need has he
And whoever the Sauds fought for,
to consult the lions of battle and launch assaults?
Would not take the tumultuous lions as comrades.

He is allied with the Protectors legitimately,
his days alone aid him and lend him support.
Yet his days ally with him and aid him.

Like his views, his banners are lofty,
with enduring good fortune as their companion and ally.
Khalid, the eternal grace, is their ally.

The kings of the earth dread his assault,
The beasts of the wilderness are wary of his power,
while he is safe from their assaults, from the danger they dread.
Yet what they fear is safe from his assaults.

It is enough to establish his competence that he is
His sufficiency lies in his capability, for he
granted victory by God and is a champion for God.
Is victorious by Allah and a victor for Allah.

He is the upholder, the guide, with the most auspicious omen,
He who firmly guides with auspicious omens,
so no bird of polytheism remains in Islam's sanctuary.
So the polytheists have no luck in the sanctuary of Islam.

He appeared over the horizons when they were barren wastes,
He overlooked the horizons while they were desolate,
so, through rebuilding, they became thriving settlements.
Thus they returned developed with buildings.

He governed his subjects while souls were wayward,
And he ruled the subjects when their souls were lost,
rejecting one another in rancor, while hearts recoiled.
Quarrelling bitterly while their hearts poured.

So excellent is what they have reached through his efforts,
Through noble striving, outcomes grow fair.
And deeds are beautified through the efforts of the generous.

Those who were misguided or escaped were disciplined by what he instilled,
and nomads and townsfolk flourished through his endeavors.
And his call inspired the absent and the present.

For good fortune, a fully mustered host surrounded him,
An organized army surrounded him for fortune,
so Bedouin Arabs and Berbers submitted to him.
So the nomads and the foreigners submitted to him.

It is enough what occurred in Hawwara and Zanata,
battles that Sulaym and Amir dreaded.
And the fallen castles of Suleim and Omar.

because their effects and offenses have grown grave.
Due to their momentous traces and crimes.

The rows of the innocent will praise what his light and might have worn away,
by the ranks of humankind on the day secrets are tested.
When the secrets are revealed on the Day of Judgment.

He turned the seasons into spring; the shade is mild,
Spring has bent the times, so the shade is draped,
returning over those in the sun, while the meadow is verdant.
Covering the meadows and the blossoming garden.

Truly, the great chief in him raised the pillar of truth,
He has erected pillars of truth with strong ones,
and the mighty lord in him tightened the bonds of faith.
And tied the bonds of faith with firm ones.

His might restrains the lion in all its crushing power,
His expanse can suffice the lions, and the lions are hissing,
and his gifts take the place of rain when rain has departed.
And his clouds can suffice the rain, and the rain is pouring.

Of all mankind, his hand reaches farthest in every good cause,
He stretches his hand in every righteousness,
and his praise, hidden and manifest, is enough for you.
And it suffices you - an opponent - his gatherings and his appearances.

He dwelt at ease in high honor; fine were his qualities,
He bubbled virtuously in the heights, so traits were purified by him,
hallowed within him, and fine were his origins.
Sacred and wholesome pillars.

He is intent on plunging into dangers, for only
Leaning into dangerous adventures,
the risk-taker attains momentous things.
Only the cautious attain the risky affairs.

He relaxes happily whenever the wild doves coo,
and curtains of stirred-up battle-dust are spread,
And tents are erected from the bustling sands.

as is his wont when a poet rises to recite
As is his habit, if a composer were to stand
his praises, or a prose-speaker rises to declaim.
Eulogizing him or a speaker were to orate.

Those who stood tall before him fall short of him;
Those who rose above him before will fall short of him,
how can shining stars compare with the sun?
And where are the stars compared to the illuminating sun?

His caliphate destroyed every opponent,
His caliphate has terminated every opponent,
so every rebel ended in ruin.
Thus no rebel remains except one who will be severed.

As if the decrees are bent on him,
he never rose without fate's decrees forcing him down.
So none stood except those decrees sat him.

Through it, righteousness has erased misguidance, effacing it,
and can darkness endure when dawn is radiant?
Can the blindnesses remain while the dawn is evident?

The heir apparent has looked to him for the path to follow,
The Crown Prince was diligent in his path,
sharing its burdens with him and taking an equal share.
Sharing its burdens and partaking in it.

If he spent the day of battle with his sword drawn,
If he remains one day with a raised sword in war,
he surely passed the night of peace with a sleepless eye.
He has also spent the night of peace while his eyelids were alert.

Out of nobility, he would have no conduct but prudence,
He refused leisure except with fervent exertion,
attending to it evening and morning, steadfast in judgment.
Accompanied by the firmness of resolve and early rising.

Noble inheritances that the generous have bequeathed,
so high honors and glorious deeds are but some of his endeavors.
Some of his great efforts and traces.

Blessings upon you for ennobling him by begetting him,
May you have goodness for ennobling him with a birth,
for only the best beget the good.
Since the righteous only beget the righteous.

And if you tend to the caliphate, looking
And if you groom him for the caliphate by supervising him,
toward him, then eyes have indeed been gladdened by that.
Then sights have been pleased with that prospect.

He is truly the light and the guidance - whoever has strayed
those who lost the path and the bewildered followed it!
Has been rightly guided by them - and the lost wanderer.

It bestowed its insignia and name, in preference to other imams,
His name is beloved, below the imams, and his name,
on an imam the pulpits exult to name.
If they appoint him imam, graces the pulpits.

He adorned himself with the fairest ornament of humble devotion,
He has adorned himself with the most beautiful ornaments,
so that eyes and inner vision might delight in it.
To delight sights that have insight.

So no headstrong one fails to incline toward his high station,
So no rebel proceeds except being drawn to his heights,
nor any assailant to make his way to his abode.
And no straying one proceeds except to his abode.

Congratulations - he has come to the splendid figure
in a glorious presence beneath which all other presences fall.
Above all figures, lowered from his eminence.
