How lovely they are—lilies that have brought forth a marvel!
Oh, how lovely these lilies, bringing forth a marvel:
Ointment jars made of silver, concealing gold.
ointment vessels of silver, concealing gold.

When the rain had watered them as their grower wished,
When the rain watered them as much as their grower willed,
they did no more than rend their garments in rapture.
they did no more than tear their robes in delight.
