وليلٍand a night قطعتُI cut through دياجيرَهُits deep gloom
بعذراءَwith a virgin maiden حمراءَred كالأنجمlike the stars
And a night—I cut through its deep gloom
And on a night I broke its chains
With a red maiden, like the stars.
With a red virgin like the stars

The stars of her goblets were passed around
Her goblets of stars poured towards me
To me, and I made them set in my mouth.
So I drank her into my mouth
تجلَّىcleared الظلامُthe darkness سريعاًswiftly بهاthrough her
كسرعةِlike the speed of عَبْلِstout الشَّوىthe limbs أَدهمa black steed
The darkness swiftly cleared through her,
Darkness was swiftly revealed through her
As swiftly as a stout-limbed black steed.
Like the speed of heated iron when it turns red

It says, its nose tilted,
He says, as his soft moan leaned
While night's dark hue wears a gleaming smile:
And the color of dusk smiles clearly
رأَيْتكَI saw you تشربُyou drink زُهرَthe radiant ones of النجومِthe stars
فولَّيْتُso I fled خوفاًin fear علىfor أنجميmy stars
“I saw you drinking the radiant stars,
I saw you drinking the flowers of the stars
So I fled in fear for my stars.”
So I fled in fear for my stars
