And a charming maiden visited my bed by night.
A maiden visited me with the night in my bed
So I embraced her bān-tree bough until dawn.
I embraced the branch of ebony from her till dawn

I ask her, 'Where is your sash?' for she has become
I asked her where is the scarf though it became
unadorned by it, yet fragrant in scent.
Free of it, perfumed with basil

She said, pointing to her bracelet, 'I moved it
She said, and gestured to the bracelet - I moved it
to my wrist when it grew loose around my waist.'
To my wrist when it dangled around my waist
