Ah, many a slender-waisted one with swaying flanks!
When her drawing is at hand, life is far away.
ظلَّتْshe continued ترنُّto twang وظلَّand continued النزعُthe drawing يَعطِفهاto bend her
كماjust as تَرَنَّمَsang نَشْوانٌa drunken man بهwithin him مَرَحglee
She kept twanging, and the drawing kept bending her,
Like a drunken man singing, full of glee.

And the arrowhead gleamed as it sped
From her—say, a star hurled at Qazah.
