The truth has dawned on you, so cross the back of a desert,
The truth has become clear, so traverse the back of the white desert,
And forsake the words of loved ones and enemies.
And abandon the talk of friends and foes,

And head with firm resolve for the land of the Hijaz; you will find
And head with determination to the land of Hejaz, you will find
Freedom from abasement in the lodgings of friends.
Remoteness from vanity in the lodging of the valleys,

And say, when you have gained your desire from Umm al-Qura
And say when you attain some of the Mother of Towns
(Which is arrival), both in secret and openly:
Which is reaching in secrecy and expression,
ياO مَكَّةَMecca اللَهِGod قدindeed مَكَّنتِyou have made available ليfor me حَرَماًa sanctuary

O Mecca of God, you have indeed provided a sanctuary for me,
O Mecca of Allah, you have established for me a sanctuary
Made safe, where I complain of no ailment.
Secured, I do not complain in it of illness,
فَمُذfor since رأىhe saw النازحُthe one far from home المسكينthe poor one مَسكَنَهُhis dwelling
فيin قُطرِكَyour land الرَحبِspacious لمnot يُنكبhe was afflicted بإيذاءby harm
For since the poor wanderer saw his dwelling
So when the displaced poor one saw his dwelling
In your spacious land, he has not been afflicted by harm.
In your vast lands, he did not strike with harm,
شوقُthe longing of الفؤادِthe heart إلىfor مَغناكِyour abode مُتَّصِلُunbroken
شَوقَthe longing of الرياضthe gardens إلىfor طلٍّlight rain وأنداءِand dew
The heart's longing for your abode is unbroken,
Yearning of the heart for your magnificence is connected
Like gardens' longing for light rain and dew.
To the yearning of meadows for fresh rain and calling.
