How many blessings are in the folds of wrath

And many a misfortune lies within the folds of a blessing,

And how much wrath is in the folds of blessings

وكم مِن شِدَّةٍ صارَت رخاءً

وكم مِن شِدَّةٍ صارَت رخاءً

وأعقَبَ ضيقُها فرَجاً ورحمَه

وأعقَبَ ضيقُها فرَجاً ورحمَه

And many a hardship has turned to ease,

And how much hardship has become comfort

And its distress has brought relief and mercy.

And its straitness was followed by relief and mercy
