Our Kaaba has become

Our Kaaba has become

perfumed with her light;

Perfumed with her light.

تَهُبُّ من أركانها

تَهُبُّ من أركانها

رياحُ عِشقٍ عَبِقَه

رياحُ عِشقٍ عَبِقَه

from her corners waft

From her corners blow

breezes fragrant with love.

Fragrant winds of love.

فصَيَّرَت قُلوبنا

فصَيَّرَت قُلوبنا

بالوَجدِ كالمُطَوَّقَه

بالوَجدِ كالمُطَوَّقَه

Thus she has made our hearts,

So she made our hearts

through longing, as though ringed,

Through ecstasy, like the collared dove,

وغادرت أرواحَنا

وغادرت أرواحَنا

بعَرشِها مُعَلَّقَه

بعَرشِها مُعَلَّقَه

and left our souls

And left our souls

suspended from her throne—

Suspended from her throne.

مليكةٌ بجوهرِ الذ

مليكةٌ بجوهرِ الذ

كرِ غَدَت مُمَنطَقَه

كرِ غَدَت مُمَنطَقَه

a queen, with the jewel of remem—

A queen, with the jewel of re-

—brance girded round her.

membrance, she has become girded.

والطائفونَ حَولها

والطائفونَ حَولها

جنودُ تِلك الحَلَقه

جنودُ تِلك الحَلَقه

Those who circle her

And those circling around her

are the soldiers of that ring.

Are the soldiers of that circle.
