ولي إليكَ انتساباٌ بتسميتي

ولي إليكَ انتساباٌ بتسميتي

محمداً وذمامٌ ليس يُختَفَرُ

محمداً وذمامٌ ليس يُختَفَرُ

And I have a bond with you through my being named

I claim kinship to you in naming myself

Muhammad, and a covenant of protection never violated.

Muhammad, a name not to be scorned,

ولي جوارٌ بأعتابٍ حَلَلتُ بها

ولي جوارٌ بأعتابٍ حَلَلتُ بها

فعندها العرشُ والكرسِيُّ يُحتَقَرُ

فعندها العرشُ والكرسِيُّ يُحتَقَرُ

And I have sanctuary at thresholds where I have settled;

And I have the honor of dwelling in the places

For beside them, the Throne and the Seat are held in contempt.

Where Your Throne and Footstool are to be spurned,

ولي مدائحُ في علياكَ تخبرُني

ولي مدائحُ في علياكَ تخبرُني

بأنّها نالها من سَبيكَ الظَفَرُ

بأنّها نالها من سَبيكَ الظَفَرُ

And I have poems praising your exalted station that tell me

And I have poems praising You, informing me

That triumph has come to them through captivating you.

That through You have I attained triumph and conquest,

ولي رسائِلُ في فَضلِ الصلاة علي

ولي رسائِلُ في فَضلِ الصلاة علي

ك والسلامِ وما في ذاك قد ذكَروا

ك والسلامِ وما في ذاك قد ذكَروا

And I have treatises on the merit of invoking blessings upon

And I have epistles on the virtue of praying for blessings upon You

You, and peace, and what they have recorded concerning that.

And peace, of which they have made mention,

وكلها يا رسول اللَه بين يَدَي

وكلها يا رسول اللَه بين يَدَي

نجوايَ قدمتُها للعفو تمتَطِرُ

نجوايَ قدمتُها للعفو تمتَطِرُ

And all these, O Messenger of God, before

And all of them, O Messenger of God, I have placed before

My whispered plea I have offered, seeking a shower of pardon.

My troubled soul, that they may receive Your pardon and rain down upon me,

فانظر لمن لاذ بالأبواب مُطَّرَحاً

فانظر لمن لاذ بالأبواب مُطَّرَحاً

واسمَع لهُ وأجِرهُ إنه وجِرُ

واسمَع لهُ وأجِرهُ إنه وجِرُ

So look upon one who sought refuge at the doors, lying cast down;

So look upon one who has sought refuge prostrate at Your door,

And listen to him, and grant him refuge, for he is afraid.

And hearken unto him, and shelter him, for he is in need of shelter.
