وسل لهُ اللَهَ في غُفرانِ زَلَّتهِ

وسل لهُ اللَهَ في غُفرانِ زَلَّتهِ

حتى يعودَ وكلُّ الذنبِ مُغتَفَرُ

حتى يعودَ وكلُّ الذنبِ مُغتَفَرُ

And ask God for the forgiveness of his lapse,

Pray to Allah for forgiveness of his slip,

So that he returns with every sin forgiven,

So he may return while all sin is pardoned.

وفي ختامٍ جميلٍ طيبٍ حسنٍ

وفي ختامٍ جميلٍ طيبٍ حسنٍ

فبالختامِ يتِمُّ القَصدُ والوَطَرُ

فبالختامِ يتِمُّ القَصدُ والوَطَرُ

And for a beautiful, wholesome, good ending;

With a beautiful, good and kind ending,

For through the ending, the aim and desire are fulfilled.

The purpose and journey are completed by the ending.

وامنَحهُ من كلِّ معلومٍ حقيقتَهُ

وامنَحهُ من كلِّ معلومٍ حقيقتَهُ

حتى يَرى صدرَهُ كالبحرِ يزدخِرُ

حتى يَرى صدرَهُ كالبحرِ يزدخِرُ

And grant him the true nature of every known thing,

Grant him the truth of every known thing,

So that he sees his breast surging like the sea.

So he sees his heart overflowing like an abundant sea.

واكشف له الحُجبَ في لُقياكَ حتى يَرى

واكشف له الحُجبَ في لُقياكَ حتى يَرى

جمالَ وجهكَ ما إن عنه يَستَتِرُ

جمالَ وجهكَ ما إن عنه يَستَتِرُ

And lift the veils for him upon meeting you, so that he sees

Unveil the veils to him in seeing You, so he can see

The beauty of your face, not hidden from him at all.

The beauty of Your face that he tries to conceal.

واشغَلهُ باللَهِ في سرٍّ وفي عَلَنٍ

واشغَلهُ باللَهِ في سرٍّ وفي عَلَنٍ

عمّا سواهُ فما في غيره سُرُرُ

عمّا سواهُ فما في غيره سُرُرُ

And occupy him with God, in secret and in public,

Occupy him with God secretly and openly,

Away from all but Him, for in nothing else is there joy.

From all else beside Him, for nothing else brings joy.
