Opposites were united in obedience to love for you.

Eloquence and festivals were reconciled,

كَتَبَ القَضاءُ بأَنَّ جَدَّكَ صاعِدٌ

والصُّبْحُ رَقٌّ والظَّلامُ مِدادُ

والصُّبْحُ رَقٌّ والظَّلامُ مِدادُ

Fate has written that your fortune is rising.

And dawn is parchment, and darkness ink.

While the dawn is tender and the darkness ink.
