Urge the riding camels toward the abode of the noble ones.
To the abode of nobility, hasten the mounts
And for lofty aspiration, traverse the vast plains.
And for the sublime ambition, shorten the distances

O you who profess love, though treachery is your way,
O you who pretend love yet betray
How long will you be seen absent from glory's presence?
For how long will you remain absent from the waist of glory?

And you once wasted away with yearning for your loved ones,
You used to devote your youth to loved ones
But today I see you keeping apart from them.
But today I see you shunning them

Toward Taybah, a land where glory has pitched its tent,
To precious Tabuk, where the pinnacle's tents are pitched
So spur the riding camels of resolve, and you will be granted your desires.
Urge the steeds of resolve to grant wishes

Through a visit to the grave of the Hashimite Muhammad,
At the tomb of the Hashemite Muhammad
You will truly attain your wishes and reap the gifts.
You will attain your hopes and reap rewards

Life has passed, yet you have not attained a cherished wish,
Life passed, you gained no soft beauty
Nor, in its prime, have you fulfilled a duty you owed.
Nor fulfilled for yourself any duty in its prime

Then die of anguish,
So you died longing
And wail in regret, and pour forth streaming tears.
Sighing in sorrow as tears flowed

And the meaning called, directing between us
Arrows that strike true at the fragments of hearts.
Arrows to the hearts' beloved targets

A heart was struck by the hand of love's anguish,
It cast away a heart, the hand of passion
And changing states swept it along many paths because of you.
So it circled through conditions, wandering

His dwelling grew distant from you against his will.
It came not to his abode as you wished
Ah, the sorrow that brought calamities upon a heart!
Oh what sorrow drove it to calamities!

And how often he sought to draw near, only for his resolve to be thwarted!
And how much it hoped to draw near, but resolve breaks
And who could strive against God's decree?
Who can overcome what Allah decrees?

And no one who hopes in you has ever returned disappointed.
One who hopes in you will not return disappointed

If my sin takes me far from your tomb
And my sin, I have indeed turned toward you, repentant.
Though I erred, I came to you repentant

Hopefully for me you will intercede on Judgement Day
Have become, through praising you, a seeker of pardon.
For in praising you I have asked for pardon

And his noble companions, distinguishing ranks

May God's peace be upon them as long as a lover yearns,
Upon them, Allah's peace, as long as a love-crazed poet
And as long as a camel-driver drives noble riding camels toward them with song.
Pines, and as long as an ardent critic censures
