قد بان من شمس السعود طلوع

قد بان من شمس السعود طلوع

وبدا لأقمار السرور سطوع

وبدا لأقمار السرور سطوع

The sun of good fortune has now risen,

The dawn of happiness has shone from the sun of Al Saud

and the moons of joy have shone forth.

And the light of joy has appeared for the moons

ودنت منى النفحات لما أن دنا

ودنت منى النفحات لما أن دنا

بالمولد الزاكي السعيد ربيع

بالمولد الزاكي السعيد ربيع

And hopes for breaths of grace drew near when there came

The soft breezes drew near when

Rabiʿ, with the pure and blessed birth.

The auspicious, blessed spring approached

شهر سما عن أن يوفى قدرَهُ

شهر سما عن أن يوفى قدرَهُ

وصفى على أن المقال بديع

وصفى على أن المقال بديع

A month too exalted for its worth to be fully conveyed

A month that transcends being fulfilled in its decree

by my description, though the words are wondrous.

And its words are most eloquent in their purity

شهر به ولد النبي محمد

شهر به ولد النبي محمد

فمقامه بين الشهور رفيع

فمقامه بين الشهور رفيع

A month in which the Prophet Muhammad was born,

A month in which the Prophet Muhammad was born

so its standing among the months is lofty.

Thus its status amongst months is lofty and eminent

فارتح له وارتع بناضر دوحه

فارتح له وارتع بناضر دوحه

فجماله للقاصدين مريع

فجماله للقاصدين مريع

So rejoice in it, and graze among its verdant trees,

So be comfortable in its fresh meadows

for its beauty is rich pasture for those who seek it.

For its beauty summons the visitors readily

واسحب ذيول سريرة السر الذي

واسحب ذيول سريرة السر الذي

يطوى عليه من صفاك ضلوع

يطوى عليه من صفاك ضلوع

And trail the skirts of the secret’s inward essence, which

And trail the hems of the gown of the secret

your ribs enfold in your purity.

Upon which your pure ribs are folded

وتشف منه فطالما قد شف من

وتشف منه فطالما قد شف من

غعبابه قلب الشجى نزوع

غعبابه قلب الشجى نزوع

And seek healing from it, for long has been worn thin

And be sated from it for it has often sated

the grieving heart, through longing for its deep waters.

The inclinations of the grieving heart

وصل القيام به لثنتى عشرةٍ

وصل القيام به لثنتى عشرةٍ

منه وحالك زفرة ودموع

منه وحالك زفرة ودموع

And continue your vigil in it until the twelfth night

Connect the acts of worship to the twelfth of it

of the month, your state a sigh and tears.

While your state is sighing and tears

واضرع لربك في التجاوز وليكن

واضرع لربك في التجاوز وليكن

مقامك فيها ذلة وخضوع

مقامك فيها ذلة وخضوع

And humbly implore your Lord for pardon, and let

And beseech your Lord for pardon and let

your stance that night be lowliness and submission.

Your stance in it be humility and submission

ولتغتنمها وصلة من ليلة

ولتغتنمها وصلة من ليلة

ما سلمت حتى دنا التوديع

ما سلمت حتى دنا التوديع

And seize it as a moment of union with a night

And make the most of it, binding with the night

that had scarcely said hello before farewell drew near.

That did not pass without bidding farewell

للَه طالع موالدٍ بطلوعه

للَه طالع موالدٍ بطلوعه

لذوى السعادة أمن الترويع

لذوى السعادة أمن الترويع

How wondrous the rising star of births! At its rising

To God belong the rising of blessed births with its rise

the fortunate are safe from terror.

For the happy ones, safety from tremors

للَه ووقت أشرقت أنواره

للَه ووقت أشرقت أنواره

بسنا نبي في الذنوب شفيع

بسنا نبي في الذنوب شفيع

How wondrous, too, the time whose lights shone

To God belongs the time when its lights shone

with the radiance of a Prophet who intercedes concerning sins.

With the year of a Prophet interceding for sins

يا من له لخلق الكريم ومن له

يا من له لخلق الكريم ومن له

الحوض المسوغ واللوا المرفوع

الحوض المسوغ واللوا المرفوع

O you of noble character, and to whom belong

O You who has the noble creation and who has

the refreshing pool and the raised banner.

The Howdh and the elevated Throne

آيات مجد قد علت وسمالها

آيات مجد قد علت وسمالها

شرف وعز لا يرام منيع

شرف وعز لا يرام منيع

Signs of glory have risen high, and exalted are their

Signs of glory have risen with its crescents

honor and might, unassailable and impregnable.

Bringing honor and might not easy to attain
