How long will you turn away from us and shun us?

Why not lay yourself open to our fragrant breezes?

If sickness and its treatment have exhausted you,

Then seek refuge in me: I am the physician who tends the sick.

Come forward to us, coward! How long will you be seen

Hanging back, yet racing through the rough terrain of your error?

Has not your wing already been feathered by blessings

From us? Why, then, do you not rise toward us?

    فنزيل حضرة عزنا لا يرفض

    Alight in our courtyard and seek refuge at our side;

For no guest at the court of our glory is turned away.

Never have people entered our courtyard after turning away

From us, then sought refuge in acceptance, without finding contentment.

They rejected you when they found you treacherous, and have

Barred you from the path of union and turned away.

They outstripped you in what you claim, and set

Their mounts charging toward us, surrendering themselves.

They kept vigil while you slept; ever since they bade farewell

To their sweet sleep for our sake, they have not closed their eyes.

Yet you accepted—woe to you!—an unacceptable state:

So, a blackened scroll and a white-haired temple!

With them are the healers; so call out in their courtyards:

The sick man is now at your door; tend him!
