ظهرت لوعتي وبان افتضاحي
Amid the flowers of the hills and the blossoms of the valley flats,
Between the flower of dew and the light of the marshes
my anguish appeared, and my shame became plain.
My anguish appeared and my shame was exposed

a breeze of gladness stirred me toward you.
A breeze of comfort pulled me towards you

So answer one whom separation has wasted away,
So respond to one whose mounts stride with vigor
and who, through parting, has become broken-winged.
And tomorrow with resolve like a broken wing

With tenderness from you that tames my zeal

Longing pitched its tent within my ribs and watered
Passion pitched its tent in my ribs so I quenched
a fire of yearning that blazed through my separation.
A fire of yearning sparked by my vigor

Friend, tuck up the hems of your resolve, and keep to
To the ways of effort not jest
the paths of earnestness, not the path of jest.

my separation from them keeps growing longer.
