لما دعا مضنى النوى لبساه
God bless the driver of the departing caravan—how plaintive he is!
For God the guide of reproach, how ardent it made him
When he called, the one wasted by separation answered him.
When the purpose of his determination donned him

For me, and for the sighs between his ribs,
For me and for the sighs within his ribs
there is a flame whose blaze the waters kindle.
A blaze kindling, its fuel disasters obscured

He recalled al-Aqiq and its inhabitants, and there flared
The mention of al-‘Uqayq and its inhabitants so it sparked
within his heart the fire of yearning for al-Aqiq.
With the blaze of longing for al-‘Uqayq its hearths

ما كلّ شائم بارق يسقاه
He watched the lightning, yet was given no draught;
A land of lightning bolts and was not sated a meadow
not every watcher of lightning is given drink from it.
Not every censurer of a flashing is sated

Alas! They attained their wishes, while he was driven away
Oh what regrets! They attained the purpose and grew by it
by his separation from what he had intended to reach.
From what he intended of attainment, its purpose grew

O people of Kazima, this is a love-stricken man's call:
O people of Kazima the call of Mutayyam
the distance of the dwellings and their remoteness have wasted him.
After the abode and its desolation saddened him

Have pity on the grievous sickness of a sorrow-stricken lover;
They mounted the horse for the excess sickness of a downpour
in the land of Tayba lie his recovery and his cure.
In good land its wellness and recovery cured him

To kiss the dust of the Chosen One's abodes—if
In kissing the soil of the chosen one’s treaty, if
he were granted wishes—would be the wish he longs for.
The purpose was given from its craving a share

O land of Tayba, while the dwellings lie far away,
Oh good land and the abode afar
indeed, the tormented one's anguish for you has lasted long.
The meaning has lingered in you, exhausted

The fruit of union is ripe on the spreading trees of your garden;
The fruit of union in your meadow, fresh
so when, despite the distance, will its harvest be granted?
So when can it be attained for the distant, its wing?

The steps for the Hashimite’s land prolonged

By God, Ahmad's majesty has, among humankind,
By God the majesty Ahmad in existence
no equal, nor do his virtues have their like.
Unique, for his equal there are no peers

How can it equal or come close to in sublimity
a glory whose edifices tower above the loftiest heights?
The nobility of the most high edifices He built?

Dispelling the anxiety from that which I feared

So upon him be a salutation as long as the clouds pour,
For upon him what the clouds poured a greeting
from one full of sorrows, whom distance from him has saddened.
From one whose ardors after him impassioned
