نسيمُthe breeze العبيرof perfume بهاto her يَعْبَقُclings fragrantly
Indeed, a Frankish woman has bewitched me.
A Frankish beauty has captivated me,
The breeze of perfume clings fragrantly to her.
Her dress scented with fragrant breeze.
ففيfor in ثوبهاher gown غُصُنa branch ناعمٌsupple
وفيand in تاجهاher crown قمرٌa moon مُشْرِقُradiant
For within her gown is a supple branch,
In her gown is a tender branch,
and within her crown, a radiant moon.
On her crown shines a brilliant moon.
وإِنand if تكthere be فيin عينهاher eye زُرْقةblueness
فإِنّthen indeed سِنانthe point القناof the lances أَزرقblue
And if there is blueness in her eye,
If her eyes are blue,
then indeed the point of the lance is blue.
The lilies' thorns are yet more blue.
