I am a novice in love, and you are young and fair.
In love I’m a novice, while you are a master of guile
ولوand if اقتصرتyou confined yourself علىto حُشاشةthe last remnant of life مُغْرمٍa lovesick man
ولو اقتصرت على حُشاشة مُغْرمٍ
وافاكwould reach you منfrom مأْسوركyour captive الميسورwhat can be afforded
وافاك من مأْسورك الميسور
And if you were content with a lovesick man's last spark of life,
Had I been content with the devotion of a lovestruck fool
What your captive could afford would reach you.
And been graced by your accessibility, I’d have given in
ماnot أَذعنتْsubmitted لكto you فيin فؤاديmy heart طاعةٌobedience
