My lord, O one whom his Lord has singled out
My Master, O You whom your Lord
Among humankind for victory and conquest.
Has singled out among all people with victory and opening

اسعى وفي المغرب والصبح
At noon and in the afternoon, to your door
Morning and evening I hasten to your door
I hasten—and at sunset and dawn.
And at sunset and dawn
وكيفand how لاnot اسعىI hasten إلىto بابكمyour door
وكيف لا اسعى إلى بابكم
وفيهand in it ليfor me داعa call علىtoward النجحsuccess
وفيه لي داع على النجح
And how could I not hasten to your door,
Why should I not hasten to your door
With a call there urging me toward success?
When through it lies my hope of success

ولا خلا زندك من قدح
May you ever remain safe from your foes’ slander,
I remain unharmed by the arrows of enemies
And may your fire-stick never fail to kindle sparks.
And your sword is never without a stroke
