Kissing the arches of his feet has become my hope,
I rise and kiss his feet though they are full
Though he has a mouth that is a cure for ailments.
Of ulcers, for to me they are lips of health.

لكن قدم سعت به في تلفي

اعددت لها جوائزاً من قبلي
Yet a foot that carried him toward my ruin—
His feet have wandered far to find me lost;
I have prepared rewards for it from my kisses.
Long ere we met I made for them a wreath.
