ولم يبق حب الغيد لي غير مهجة

وقلب فقلبي ضاع في الحب من يدي

وقلب فقلبي ضاع في الحب من يدي

And love of graceful maidens has left me nothing but a soul

Nothing remains of the love of al-Ghayda for me but anguish,

And a heart; but my heart slipped from my grasp in love.

While my heart, oh my heart, has slipped through my hands in love.

فيا مهجتي لم يبق غيرك فاذهبي

فيا مهجتي لم يبق غيرك فاذهبي

فكل قرين بالمقارن يقتدي

فكل قرين بالمقارن يقتدي

So, O my soul, only you remain, so depart;

So my anguish, you are all I have left, then go,

For every companion follows the example of the one he accompanies.
