Your fate has schemed against you with a woman flautist,
The days have played for you on a flute
Who brings sorrow into every joy.
That brought grief to every happiness.
فَاِربُطواso bind شَدقَهاthe corner of her mouth إِذاwhen نَفَخَتshe blows
فَذاكَfor that أَولىmore fitting بِهاfor her مِنَthan الناءِthe flute
So bind her mouth when she blows,
So when it blew tie fast its lips -
For that befits her more than the flute.
That suits it better than sighing.
