أَهلاًwelcome بِفِطرٍto the fast’s end قَدindeed أَنالَbestowed bounty هِلالُهُits crescent
أَهلاً بِفِطرٍ قَد أَنالَ هِلالُهُ
فَالآنَso now فَاِغدُso go in the morning إِلىto المُدامِthe wine وَبَكِّرِand start early
فَالآنَ فَاِغدُ إِلى المُدامِ وَبَكِّرِ
Welcome to the fast’s end, whose crescent has bestowed bounty!
Welcome, O Fitr whose crescent has been attained
So now go early to the wine, and make an early start.
So now hasten to the wine and drink early
وَاِنظُرand look إِلَيهِat it كَزَورَقٍlike a little boat مِنof فِضَّةٍsilver
وَاِنظُر إِلَيهِ كَزَورَقٍ مِن فِضَّةٍ
قَدalready أَثقَلَتهُweighed it down حُمولَةٌa cargo مِنof عَنبَرِambergris
قَد أَثقَلَتهُ حُمولَةٌ مِن عَنبَرِ
And look at it, like a little boat of silver,
And look at it like a small boat of silver
Weighed down by a cargo of ambergris.
Laden with a cargo of ambergris
