اِسكُبوا الكَأسَ إِلى النَو

اِسكُبوا الكَأسَ إِلى النَو

مِ وَخَيرُ اللَهوِ تَجري

مِ وَخَيرُ اللَهوِ تَجري

Pour the cup until sleep,

Pour the wine into cups,

and the best of merriment flows.

The best pastime flows.

إِن يَكُن لا بُدَّ نَومٌ

إِن يَكُن لا بُدَّ نَومٌ

فَاِعذُروا النَومَ بِسُكرِ

فَاِعذُروا النَومَ بِسُكرِ

If sleep is unavoidable,

If sleep must come,

then excuse sleep because of drunkenness.

Then let it come from drunkenness.
