قُلوبُthe hearts الناسِof the people أَسرىcaptives فيin يَدَيهِhis two hands
وَثَوبُand the robe الحُسنِof beauty مَخلوعاًbestowed عَلَيهِupon him
People’s hearts are captives in his hands,
The hearts of people are captives in his hands
And the robe of beauty is bestowed upon him.
And the garment of beauty lies discarded over him
أَسيرُI journey إِذاwhen بُليتُI am afflicted وَذابَand melts away جِسميmy body

I shall journey when I am afflicted and my body melts away—
I'm a captive when my body is worn out and melted
Perhaps the wind will carry me to him.
Perhaps the wind will take me to him
