ياO أَيُّهاyou المُتَتايِهُthe one putting on airs المُتَغاضِبُthe one feigning anger
يا أَيُّها المُتَتايِهُ المُتَغاضِبُ
أَبدِshow الرِضاapproval عَنّيwith me فَإِنّيfor I am تائِبُrepentant
أَبدِ الرِضا عَنّي فَإِنّي تائِبُ
O you who put on airs and feign anger,
O wanderer, so angry with me,
Show that you are pleased with me, for I am repentant.
Relent, for I repent my words to thee.
وَغَضِبتَand you grew angry لَمّاwhen قُلتُI said هَجرُكَyour abandonment قاتِليmy killer
وَغَضِبتَ لَمّا قُلتُ هَجرُكَ قاتِلي
إِنif عادَreturns وَصلُكَunion with you ليto me فَإِنّيthen I am كاذِبُa liar
إِن عادَ وَصلُكَ لي فَإِنّي كاذِبُ
And you grew angry when I said, "Your abandonment is killing me."
You raged when I spoke of leaving you, my dear,
If union with you returns to me, then I am a liar.
If we reunite, know my threats were not sincere.
