Many a mounted caravan camped for the night, then sprang up,
Many a band of riders halted for the night, then sprang up
bent on saddling up and tightening their camel-saddles.
To saddle up and secure their camel-saddles.

And we raced upon the backs of she-camels
whose swift forelegs seized the earth.
That covered the ground with swift forelegs.

Smiling white forehead-blazes adorned them,
Smiling, radiant faces adorned them,
like full moons upon the faces of nights.
Like full moons in the faces of nights.
