حاشاFar be it لِشُرَّةَfor Shurra بَلrather طوبىbliss لِعاشِقِهاfor her lover
لَوif كانَتِwere الشَمسُthe sun تَحكيهاto resemble her أَوِor القَمَرُthe moon
Far be it from Shurra! Rather, blessed would her lover be,
if the sun resembled her, or the moon;
إِذاًthen لَكانَthere would surely be يُرىseen فيat كُلِّevery ماtime when طَلَعَتit rose
شِبهٌa likeness لَهاof her فَيَقِلُّso would lessen الهَمُّsorrow وَالفِكَرُand troubled thoughts
then, whenever it rose, there would be seen
a likeness of her, so sorrow and troubled thoughts would lessen.
