وَعَروسٍand a bride زُفَّتwas led in bridal procession عَلىupon بَطنِthe inner surface of كَفٍّa hand
وَعَروسٍ زُفَّت عَلى بَطنِ كَفٍّ
فيin قَميصٍa tunic مُنَقَّشٍadorned بِزُجاجِwith glass
في قَميصٍ مُنَقَّشٍ بِزُجاجِ
And a bride borne in procession upon a palm,
In a tunic adorned with glass;
فَهيَso she is بَعدَafter المِزاجِmixing تَوريدُthe rosy coloring of خَدٍّa cheek
فَهيَ بَعدَ المِزاجِ تَوريدُ خَدٍّ
وَهيَand she is مِثلُlike الياقوتِa ruby قَبلَbefore المِزاجِmixing
وَهيَ مِثلُ الياقوتِ قَبلَ المِزاجِ
After mixing, she is the rosy blush of a cheek,
And she is like a ruby before mixing.
