جَزَعتَ مِن لَحَظاتِ الكاعِبِ الرَودِ
O my friend, Time has done enough to censure me in your stead;
O my friend, time has spared you the need to reproach me.
you recoiled from the glances of the full-breasted, graceful maiden.
You were dismayed by the glances of the tender, full-breasted maiden.

Gray hair has loosed across my head and its parting
And gray hair has sent forth, upon my head and its parting,
its white falcons among its black ravens.
its white hawks among its black ravens.
