أَلاwill you not تَسأَلونَask اللَهَGod بُرءَhealing مُتَيَّمٍone enslaved by love

Pray, will you not ask God to cure a man enthralled by love?
Will you not ask God to heal one enslaved by love,
Illness has taken firm hold of him, in flesh and blood.
Whom sickness has gripped in flesh and blood?
وَرُدّواand turn back دُموعَtears الشَوقِlonging بَينَbetween جُفونِهِhis eyelids

Turn his tears of longing back within his eyelids,
And turn back the tears of longing between his eyelids;
that he may recover—raw [textually uncertain]—then restore his flesh upon my bones.
He will recover—[unclear word]—then restore his flesh over his bones.
وَقَدand indeed قَيَّدواthey have shackled غَيرَone who is not الفَقيهِknowledgeable بِأَمرِهِabout his own condition
وَمَنand whoever يَلقَexperiences ماwhat لاقىhe experienced مِنَamong الناسِpeople يَعلَمِwill know
They have fettered one who is not versed in his affair;
And indeed they have shackled one who does not understand his own condition;
and whoever suffers what he suffered at people’s hands will understand.
And whoever among people experiences what he has experienced will know.
