غَديرٌ يُرَجرِجُ أَمواجَهُ

غَديرٌ يُرَجرِجُ أَمواجَهُ

هُبوبَ الرِياحِ وَمُرُّ الصَبا

هُبوبَ الرِياحِ وَمُرُّ الصَبا

A pool whose waves are stirred

by blowing winds and the passing east breeze.

إِذا الشَمسُ مِن فَوقِهِ أَشرَقَت

إِذا الشَمسُ مِن فَوقِهِ أَشرَقَت

تَوَهَّمتُهُ جَوشَناً مُذهَبا

تَوَهَّمتُهُ جَوشَناً مُذهَبا

When the sun shines above it,

I imagine it a gilded coat of mail.
