مُسامَحَةً لا بارَكَ اللَهُ في المَكسِ

مُسامَحَةً لا بارَكَ اللَهُ في المَكسِ

Come, O wine-seller, bring it at whatever price you see fit,

O you, wine-bearer, bring whatever you see,

on generous terms—may God not bless haggling!

Tolerance, not blessed by God is intoxication,

إِذا ما خُمارُ السُكرِ يُذكِرُني غَداً

إِذا ما خُمارُ السُكرِ يُذكِرُني غَداً

فَلا حَبَذا يَومي وَلَهفي عَلى أَمسي

فَلا حَبَذا يَومي وَلَهفي عَلى أَمسي

If tomorrow the hangover of drunkenness reminds me of this,

If the intoxication of wine reminds me tomorrow,

then unwelcome is my day, and alas for my yesterday!

Then good for my day, and my yearning for yesterday.
