جاءَتshe came تَهادىshe glided gently كَالغُرابِlike the raven الهائِمِwandering
مَلظوظَةًthickly massed مُسوَدَّةَblackened القَوادِمِthe foremost wing-feathers
She came swaying like a wandering raven,
She came gliding like a wandering raven,
Dense-massed, her foremost pinions black,
Thickly massed, her foremost wing-feathers blackened,
تَصيحُshe cries out بِالتَهتانِwith streaming rain وَالهَماهِمِand low rumblings
حَتّىuntil شَفَتshe quenched غُلَّةَburning thirst تُربٍsoil هائِمِparched
Crying out in steady rain and low rumblings,
Crying out with streaming rain and low rumblings,
Until she quenched the burning thirst of parched earth,
Until she quenched the burning thirst of parched soil,
وَغَطَّتِand she covered المَحلَthe barren land بِوَبلٍwith a downpour دائِمِunceasing
And covered the drought-stricken land with a lasting downpour.
And covered the barren land with an unceasing downpour.
