Be angry, you whom I love—for how generous the world is!
She whom I love grows angry—how generous the world is!
I am not among the dead in this world, nor am I alive.
And in it I am neither among the dead nor alive.
أَلاah! لَيتَif only فاهاher mouth مَشرَبٌa drinking place ليfor me وَلَيتَنيand if only I

Ah, if only her mouth were a drinking place for me, and if only I
Ah, if only her mouth were my drinking place, and if only I
might remain there, neither driven away nor having my thirst quenched.
might remain there, neither driven away nor having my thirst quenched.
