وَأَسوَدَand a black object فيin كَفِّthe palm of مَجدولَةٍa shapely woman
وَأَسوَدَ في كَفِّ مَجدولَةٍ
لَطيفٍdelicate لَهُit has خِلقَةٌa form مُنكَرَهstrange
لَطيفٍ لَهُ خِلقَةٌ مُنكَرَه
And a black object in a shapely woman's palm,
A black lion in the palm of a gentle one
Delicate, with a strange form:
Who has a strange nature
إِذاwhen اِستَودَعَتshe entrusts سِرَّهاher secret عِندَهwith it
إِذا اِستَودَعَت سِرَّها عِندَه
فَأَحسَنُthen the best ماwhat فيهِis in it أَنto يُظهِرَهreveal it
فَأَحسَنُ ما فيهِ أَن يُظهِرَه
When she entrusts her secret to it,
When she entrusts her secret to him
Then its finest quality is to reveal it.
The best in him is to reveal it
