Alas, my master, take me by the hand.
Oh my lord, please take my hand
And do not abandon me, nor say, 'Woe to you!'
And do not leave me, do not say "Woe is me!"

And show compassion; if I relapse, forgive me again.
Show mercy, for if I slip again
For a physician may treat one who has relapsed.
The doctor may yet cure a broken man
