أَنتَyou مِنfrom مَعشَرٍa people لَهُمthey have قَدَمُprecedence السوevil (first fragment)
أَنتَ مِن مَعشَرٍ لَهُم قَدَمُ السو
ءِevil (final fragment) وَذوand one possessing السابِقاتِpast exploits وَالتَبريزُand distinction
ءِ وَذو السابِقاتِ وَالتَبريزُ
You are of a people with precedence in evil,
You belong to a group whose footsteps are evil
and one endowed with past exploits and distinction.
Possessors of foremost place and fame
وَطَريقُand the path المَجدِglory الَّذيwhich سارَhe traveled فيamong الناthe people (first fragment)
وَطَريقُ المَجدِ الَّذي سارَ في النا
سِthe people (final fragment) لِيَجبيin order to levy أَموالَهُمtheir wealth وَيَحوزُand take possession
سِ لِيَجبي أَموالَهُم وَيَحوزُ
And the path of glory that he trod among the people,
The path of glory that people have taken
to levy their wealth and seize it.
To collect their wealth and seize
