ياO مَنthe one whom أَراهُI see him لَجَّpersisted stubbornly فيin طَيَرانِهِhis flight
يا مَن أَراهُ لَجَّ في طَيَرانِهِ
أَخطِرbring بِبالِكَto your mind إِنif عَقَلتَyou have sense وُقوفاstopping
أَخطِر بِبالِكَ إِن عَقَلتَ وُقوفا
O you whom I see persisting stubbornly in your flight,
O you whom I see determined in his flight
Bring stopping to mind, if you have sense.
Think carefully, if you are sensible, about stopping awhile,
وَإِذاand when ذَكَرتَyou remembered وَكِدتَand you schemed فَاِذكُرthen remember أَنَّهُthat it
وَإِذا ذَكَرتَ وَكِدتَ فَاِذكُر أَنَّهُ
لَيسَis not الثَناءُthe praise لِماfor what أَرَدتَyou intended مُطيفاhovering around
لَيسَ الثَناءُ لِما أَرَدتَ مُطيفا
And when you remember and scheme, remember that
And if you are reminded and become anxious, remember that
praise does not hover around what you intended.
Praise is not for one who aimlessly roams about.
