وَليand I have سِواهاbesides her أَلفُa thousand سُرِّيَّهconcubines
The Numayri woman's daughter has indeed grown angry.
The daughter of Numayriya has become angry with me
And besides her, I have a thousand concubines.
While I have a thousand other secret loves
إِذاwhen غَدَتshe goes out in the morning يَوماًone day إِلىto حاجَةٍan errand

When she goes out one day on an errand,
If she goes out one day for something she needs
she travels atop two thousand female jinn.
She rides on two thousand demons
وَإِنand if جَرىcomes up ذِكريmention of me لَهاto her أَعرَضَتshe turns away
وَمَسَحَتand she wipes away ذِكريmention of me بِلاwithout نِيَّهintention
And if mention of me reaches her, she turns away,
And if my name is mentioned to her she turns away
and wipes away mention of me without intent.
And wipes out my name without intention
وَضاحِكَتand she laughs with بِنتاًa daughter لَهاof hers غَثَّةًscrawny
وَجارَةًand a neighbor عَرجاءَlame قَسرِيَّهQasri
And she laughs with a scrawny daughter of hers,
She laughs at a vulgar, uncouth girl
and a lame Qasri neighbor.
And a lame, hunchbacked neighbor
يَظُنُّهاregards her as الشَيعَةُthe Shi'a بابَthe gate of الهُدىguidance
وَخَلفَand behind ذاكَthat البابِthe gate بَرِّيَّهa wilderness
The Shi'a regard her as the gate to guidance,
Her followers think she is the door of guidance
and behind that gate lies a wilderness.
But behind that door is only wickedness
