The one we have censured most in love—

Where, tell me, where is he who did wrong and changed?

And it is as though I had a thousand letters from him,

And a messenger, and a thousand fabricated promises.

And he made baseless accusations, obstinate, thinking the angry

man is always bound to forgive.

I shall show him and openly profess belief,

And yet inwardly I conceal something other than that.
