With the keen sword you removed the thorns of spears
I cleared the thorns from the date palms
From the fruit of lofty glory before the harvest.
Before picking the ripe fruit.

And you said to calamity—and you are the one
And I said to misfortunes while you are the one
Who speaks truly to it—“You have none but me.”
Whose words are believed by no one but me:

In God's protection and His safekeeping,
"In God's protection, go safely and prosper!
Go unharmed—nay, successful and secure.

Its white banners are granted their wishes.
Each day a journey brings praise and acclaim.

Each day, a journey toward high glory,
Alas for him who departed, leaving
Through which you earn praise and acclaim.
His family desolate, like us!
ياO ويحalas for منthe one whom سرتyou departed وخلفتَهُand left him behind

Alas for the one you left behind when you departed,
Dear one, where is he who came to us from you?
Lonely among his family, like us.
And he who you sent towards us?

Kawānib—how does what came to her compare
The wilderness came to us from you,
With what she has sent toward us?
While companionship came to you from us.

Desolation came to us from her,
Do not ask how we have fared without you -
And companionship came to her from us.
Our state without you is the worst state.
فلاso do not تسلask عنabout حالناour state بعدكمafter you
أسوأُthe worst حالstate بعدكمafter you حالناour state
So do not ask about our state after your departure:
Turn their land towards us with half
After you, ours is the worst of states.
The force with which ours turned to you!

So fold up their land toward us twice as swiftly as
You folded up our land toward them [wording uncertain].
