العارف ها ذاك فنى

العارف ها ذاك فنى

If the proud, free man is

If he be the free man

the knowing one—behold, that one has perished;

Knows his worth, arts he hath none

ولم يعش غير أبي

ولم يعش غير أبي

العارفها ذا كفنى

العارفها ذا كفنى

and none but my father lived;

But to live free is the cause

the one who knows it—this is my shroud.

Wherewith he is clothed in noble robes.
