plain for everyone to see, like the sun,
until I became esteemed among them.

غدت على حاجتنا كالعين
You lavished it among the people, deliberately before my eyes;
it answered our need like steady rain.
وقاكمmay He protect you الرحمنthe All-Merciful سوءthe harm of العينthe evil eye
وقاكم الرحمن سوء العين
فليسfor there is no فيin ميزانكمyour scales منany عينimbalance
فليس في ميزانكم من عين
May the All-Merciful shield you from the evil eye,
for there is no imbalance in your scales.
