My school, how great is its stature
And how many, how many favors of his I hold in honor!
And many, many hands applaud it
ياO نصرتيmy support أتاكمhe came to you منتصفاًseeking redress
يا نصرتي أتاكم منتصفاً
لتنصفواso that you may grant justice محبكمyour admirer مهتضمwronged
لتنصفوا محبكم مهتضم
O my support, he has come to you seeking redress,
O my supporters, I came to you impartial
so that you may do justice to your wronged admirer.
So you may do justice for your wronged lover
مدرستيmy school تغيرتhas changed فيduring مدتيmy tenure
مدرستي تغيرت في مدتي
عوائداًcustoms وأخّرواand they put back وقدمّواand they brought forward
عوائداً وأخّروا وقدمّوا
My school has changed during my tenure
My school changed during my time
in its customs; they have put back and brought forward.
Traditions were altered, some delayed, some advanced
ياO ضيعتيmy ruin بينهمamong them تعصبواthey banded together
يا ضيعتي بينهم تعصبوا
جماعةas a group ياO ضيعتيmy ruin بينهمamong them
جماعة يا ضيعتي بينهم
Alas for my ruin among them! They have banded together
O my community, they became partisan among themselves
as a group—alas for my ruin among them!
